What is your lay occupation?
I am a Project Manager for social media company that focuses on the gay community.
Describe the path leading to your Calling to the Order.
I've known about the Sisters for a few years. The first Sister I ever talked to was Sister Unity Divine of Los Angeles. She stood out at Palm Springs Pride with her long, feathered lashes. I believe my exact words were "Girl, you look fabulous. I love your look" and if memory serves me (and it usually does not) I believe she mouthed back "call me". A very gracious way to deal with someone you don't know gushing about how fabulous you look without actually having to talk to them. Cut to October 12, 2010 when I bumped into three of the Boston Sisters and history was made. For me the Sisters are a mixture of giving back to the community while looking fabulous and bringing joy. How could it be any better?
Explain your interpretation of The Ministry of Perpetual Indulgence.
Our Ministry is no different than any of the other love-based religious teaching, we are called to reach out to the disenfranchised of society. We don't judge, we don't condemn, we only offer unconditional love to those who need it. If we can walk down the street fully manifested you should feel comfortable looking however you want.
Do you believe in miracles?
Most assuredly. Miracles are surprises that enhance your life.
And what other principles guide your practice as a nun?
My over-arching goal is to make Sandra a better person than I am and hopefully I will improve myself in the process.
