Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing and a mysterious handmaid were back at City Hall Plaza Monday for a protest primarily organized by SEIU. As ICE Raids continue, often operating outside of established law, we stand together. The crowd was large and loud, making their voices known that we will keep fighting to ensure our freedoms. Freddie mainly stayed to the side and engaged with people who sought a direct connection while distributing pamphlets detailing your rights when confronted by ICE. David Huerta, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU)–United Service Workers West (USWW), was arrested during the Los Angeles protests the Friday previous. After three nights of detention, Huerta was released on a $50,000 bond Monday afternoon, though he remains charged with conspiracy to impede an officer. Prosecutors have accused Huerta of blocking access to a gate while law enforcement attempted to execute a search warrant and refusing to leave when asked. (Source CNN’s Lauren Mascarenhas)
