Sister Lida Christ, Sister Allison Chains, Sister Rita Lips, Sister Stella Tension-Hor, Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing, Novice Sister Ava Cado, Novice Sister Cheri Tonnin, Postulant Sister Florence Nightimpale, & Postulant Guard Luke E. Purr all made their way to the Boston Common for the Boston Dyke March where all Dykes are welcome. The 30th annual amazing event centers on a march through the streets of Boston with multiple bands, many chants, minimal police involvement and zero corporate sponsorships. The crowd was so massive even when we hit the long straight stretches you could not see the end of the marchers.
On the common itself was the festival, with local organizations and small vendors, bands, poetry and speakers and a general sense of community and comraderies. The Sisters were there to shake the “buckets” so the people can fund next year’s dyke march and many of us stuck around for the fire eating as night fell.
We continue to be in awe of the work the dyke march does and happily stand by you.
