Saint #Tabletop-General

Matt joined the PAX Tabletop department’s management team in early 2015, and has loved every minute of it. Matt agreed to take over Tabletop department management starting with PAX East 2018. But before that show was even to occur, he was then promptly tricked into helping create PAX Unplugged. PAX has since turned into a year-round job for Matt, as he works with ReedPop to coordinate the tabletop gaming content and exhibitor sales across all of the US-based PAX events.

As Sisters pledge ourselves to promulgate Universal Joy and to eliminate Stigmatic Guilt. PAX is both these things at its very core. It’s a space where people come together to promote their own passion of play. PAX is a place that is a welcoming and kind space. One of their catchphrases is Welcome Home, and people take it to heart. A place where you are invited to play and indulge. Also a place where you have a seat at the table. One of the best ways to build community is to make people feel not just allowed, but valued. It’s a space that encourages a level of outward passion that people otherwise can feel ostracized for. At PAX it is celebrated.

As a media member, turned volunteer, turned manager and events coordinator, Matt Morgan exemplifies the values of PAX. Through his dedicated work, he assists countless members of our community in experiencing joy and safely finding community.

Whether at PAX West in Seattle, the former PAX South in San Antonio, PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia or PAX East here in Boston, Matt is there making sure the space exists and is running smoothly. He even occasionally finds time to play a game himself. PAX East currently attracts about 100,000 attendees a year, making it the largest gaming convention in the Western Hemisphere.
