Point Nun Report: MA Youth Pride 05/16/2026

On a glorious day of sun and warm temperatures and perfectly blue sky Sister Betty and Novice Sister Florence Nightimpale manifested at The Massachusetts Youth Pride held at Boston City Hall plaza greeting and meeting all celebrating everyone’s fabulousness. We then joined in the mile long march chanting powerful messages of resistance, love, and joy! After returning to the pavilion, we continued to cheer the marchers as we all returned to the pavilion.

After which Betty and Florence helped at the History Lives tent, encouraging visitors to use provided journals to impart their knowledge, hopes, and advice to the next generation of LGBTQIA+ youth. The journals provided visitors with a “prompt of resistance” and an opportunity to share for the future their thoughts about that prompt. The journals will continue to be an ongoing project. The prompts of resistance were as follows:

  • Dear Queer Ancestors…
  • To the Next Generation of Queer Youth…
  • To my Past/Present/Future Self…
  • What Brings You Queer Joy
  • How Do You Experience Community? W
  • hat does it mean to be queen?

While there Betty and Flo were interviewed by the Samaritans and got to share out queer journeys, and what pride means to us, and Betty got to share their experience where the hotline saved them and how a simple phone call was the difference between life and death.

A greater day could not be had, we witnessed freedom, joy and love!
