On Monday, March 11, 2013 Sisters Rosetta Stone, Lola Gaggin, Sandra Musique, and Postulant Penny Drive met up at Club Cafe for our monthly night of charity drag bingo. The charity for the month was the Male Center. Keith Orr and a group of his staff came to lend their support and give some information about the Male Center. Keith even took the second mic during a round of bingo to talk with Constance about all the services the Male Center offers. It was a packed house, at one point people couldn’t find places to sit. The Sisters sold bingo cards as usual, but also had a raffle for a $100 gift certificate for house cleaning graciously provided by Spotless New England. The raffle generated $180 which added to bingo card sales and donations brought the total for the night up to $616 (less Square fees). One of the most remarkable parts of the evening was when Kris Knievil, Rainbow Fright, Liza Lott, and Fena Barbitall all came in to play out of face. As we were leaving JuJuBee arrived and graciously took pictures with everyone, made a donation to the night and told the Sisters that if we ever needed her for a charity event to give her a call.
It was a great night. Attached are the totals raised so far with Bingo and you’ll notice our bingo charities are all set for this year. If we have other charities reaching out for help we should consider penny drives or maybe holding separate events.
