Mystic LGBTQ + Youth Support Network Drag Prom

Mystic LGBTQ & Youth Support Network (“Queer Mystic”), drag prom, 5/19/17

On Friday evening, Sisters Yonica and Rosetta met up together at the venue for the Queer Mystic Drag Prom in Arlington, and manifested for the event, while the volunteers for the event finalized the decorating and refreshments.

We celebrated Yonica’s first black veil manifestation by conducting the opening remarks and invocation.  Most of the remainder of the evening was spent talking to the attendees (including a quick lesson in faux eyelash application) and the chaperones, as well posing for photo’s by Mark Shastany, who also arrived at the venue to help document the event.

Both nuns expressed to each other how genuine and enjoyable the attendees were.  The attendees carried a beautiful energy throughout the evening, and once dancing started, they were rarely off the dance floor.  Drag participants were very creative, and the organization provided a quiet room for those that needed to find some time to regroup during the evening.

As the evening got towards the end, Yonica and Rosie demo’d a bit of runway skillz, kicking off a final celebration of dancing and friendship to music.

After the event ended, volunteers cleared the space, while the Sisters demanifested, made their final greetings, and headed home for deserved relaxation.
