Point Nun Report: Pride Celebration and Rally at Boston City Hall 6/4/2025

On this fateful first Wednesday of Pride 2025, Sister Stella Tension-Hor awaited her Sisters from a lofty perch within Boston City Hall, for the inside had air conditioning that which the outside did not.

Soon she was joined by Novice Father Carm De Garcon, Postulant Sister Florence Nightimpale and Abbess Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing of the ever increasing name. A veritable force of nunliness soon to be swallowed whole by a contingent of over 45 local organizations rallying on City Hall Plaza.

There was celebration and sadness, resistance and calls to action. One of the themes of the event was Existence as Resistance and exist we certainly did. We took up space and were loud, as moved from the plaza to inside the city council chambers itself.

The Boston Sisters received (another) official recognition for our work from the city. Both Freddie and Stella gave speeches to the crowd during the rally, and we were honored to be among many voices from a multitude of groups and backgrounds. Freddie also spoke at the reception and read off the list of names of all hosting organizations in the chambers.

We thank Councilor Henry Santana for the invitation, everyone we were able to stand proudly with, and give a special recognition to everyone who could not be there with us that day. We see you, we love you, and we will continue to fight for you as part of our community.
