As our penultimate June event this year of someone’s lord twenty twenty four plus one, The Boston Sister’s of Perpetual Indulgence once more took to the greatest stage in all of Bow Market: The Upstairs. Sister Brother Freddie Anne Willing and Sister May Flower were joined by veteran and steadfast allies Patty Bourree, Buster Pants and Zeizar Zalad as we put on the world’s greatest show since Christopher Marlowe threw Shakespeare from the Tower of London. The greatest show since Wolverine told the sound editor for The Greatest Showman to really get creative with volume levels. A show that can only be described as THIRSTY SWORD LESBIANS.
And so came forth a tale as old as time. Four sexy twenty somethings work a coffee shop in the magical town of Summer Ville, and when a weed deal goes south, a magical egg is happened upon and a very cool manager is kidnapped, we’re all off to save the world. The world was rocked in the process. Because, you know, flirty eyes, you know. It’s called Thirsty Sword Lesbians for a reason.
While the tale was worthy to be told, this backdrop was but a backdrop for the front drop of raising funds in a fundraising sense for the amazing work of the Theater Offensive. They were on hand to speak on their mission, to present liberating art by, for, and about queer and trans people of color that transcends artistic boundaries, celebrates cultural abundance, and dismantles oppression. Together we raised over $1400 for their amazing work.
We would like to thank our partner Side Quest Books and Games. We love the tiny bookfair. We thank Sister Betty Esém and Sister Florence Nightimpale for running the door and the raffle. We thank the Upstairs for hosting us and of course we thank the audience, every queer, polyamorous, bicycle riding, dragon loving one of you.
Until next time.
