Sisters Eunice, KrisTall, and Lida met at 9:00 AM at the Universalist Unitarian Church to attend the All You Need Is Love dress rehearsal and strategize how best we could assist with the fundraising. In the end, we agreed that street promoting in the late afternoon, followed by speed raffle sales 30 minutes ahead of curtain for both the 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM performances, and two rounds of collection plate donation solicitations during the performance itself, would be the best approach – and the show’s producer/director Dennis agreed.
From 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM we spread ourselves up and down Commercial Street and then eventually consolidated in front of theUniversalist Unitarian Chuch to “bark” for the event of the evening.
Once 6:30 PM rolled around we conducted a 30 minute raffle sales rush, and as planned collected donations twice during the actual performance. We repeated the whole process for the later show, from promotion to raffle to collections.
All together we assisted the cause by raising a total of just shy of $1800. Yay!
We then hit a few of the bars in groups, met up again for a little late night street ministry, and then went off for defacing. And there was much rejoicing!
