On Saturday, February 28, Point Nun Sister Eunice X was joined at The Convent for communal facing by Sisters KrisTall Mighty, Lida Christ, Luvinya Always, Rosetta Stone, and Tori D’Affair and Aspirant Grace A’Gawd, as well as newly-minted Altered Boy Erin and photo-historian Saint Meg-a-Pixel.
We made our way to the Copley Square Marriott and met with Sister Sandra Musique and Novice Sister Angela Merci (who was stunning in her first Novitiate manifestation). At the opening of Fenway Health’s The Men’s Event gala, we split into groups to cover both the VIP lounge and general admission welcoming areas to meet, greet, and entreat patrons to visit the silent auction tables.
Following the first hour of frolicking and fellowship, we began the official Herding of the Celebrants into the dining hall, which was resplendent with new lighting and upgraded fabrics.
Near the very start of the formal program, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh took the stage to inspire all with his silver tongue while The Sisters lined up stateside both to appreciate and to await their turn. As the mayor concluded his remarks, it was finally time for The Boston Sisters to ascend the stage of The Men’s Event for the very first time as invited speakers. Sister Eunice took the podium and proceeded to describe for the audience our composition, mission, and position of non-judgementalism.
We then assisted with the Silent Auction and following a brief dinner break assisted further by collecting donor cards during the Ask. When recurring Men’s Event stage band Booty Vortex exploded into funk, the room broke into dance and The Sisters shook their collective tookus off!
After warmly wishing well to the eat-drink-and-be-mary-makers as they exited down the escalators, we made our way back to The Convent for drinks and decompression along with manied munchies.
Overall the patrons were warm and fuzzy and The Sisters were well received, and there was much rejoicing!
Much love and respect.
